Daylight Savings Time begins March 13th. Remember to spring your clocks forward one hour so you’ll be on time for school tomorrow. Have a great day!


Students in 3rd grade have learned coding through the Code.org website this year. Now they are applying that skill as they work with the Dash and Dot robots. The robots have caused a great deal of excitement as you can see.





It’s Registration Time. If you know of a preschool or kindergarten age child you may now sign up for our registration days. Please call 304-643-2991, Ext. 110 for an appointment. All registration will take place at the Ritchie County Board of Education building.

Kindergarten students at Smithville Elementary School learned how to do book reports with the Pages App on their iPads. Their picture reports were truly a work of art. Hats off to all the students and their teacher for their willingness to learn.

Teens from Ritchie County High School Take WV State LifeSmarts Title
Congratulations to Sophie, Braiden, Joshua, Zane and Garrett. They will represent West Virginia at Nationals in April.
LifeSmarts, a consumer education competition that challenges teens in grades 6-8 (Junior Varsity) and 9-12 (Varsity) about personal finance, health & safety, the environment, technology & workforce development, and consumer rights & responsibilities, is a program of the National Consumers League.
