Ritchie County Schools is joining with WVDE and celebrating Public Schools Week. To kick off the celebration, please help us GO RED for PUBLIC ED tomorrow, Friday February 20th. Ritchie County has utilized the allowed 5 NTI days and 5 Inclement Weather "Snow Days" and will be adjusting the calendar as follows: Last Day of School for Students is now May 29, 2026.
May 28th and May 29th are now instructional days.

Yesterday, elementary schools across the county participated in Dino Day, a fun and exciting celebration to kick off 2026! Students from all schools were surprised with a stuffed dinosaur and a Dino-themed coloring page. Dino Day also served as a surprise attendance day, rewarding students for being present and encouraging strong attendance habits. It was a dino-mite way to start the year with smiles, excitement, and a positive message about the importance of coming to school!
Happy New Year! Just as a reminder- January 2nd is a Professional Learning Day for staff, there is no school for students.

With the help of the Salvation Army and generous donations from our community, Christmas Food Vouchers will once again be available this year for low-income families and senior citizens in Ritchie County.
Vouchers are income-based, and the following must be provided at sign-up:
✔️ Proof of income
✔️ Monthly bills
✔️ Proper identification for each child listed
➡️ One voucher per household
➡️ Must be a Ritchie County resident

Great fun was had by all at the Alumni Basketball Game on Friday night. The Alumni boys and alumni girls were each divided into 2 teams. Alumni from 1992-2025 participated in the game. We had Kenny Church, Ted VanScoy, and Rick Haught officiating. Alumni wrestlers were also recognized.
Tonight: Winter Meet the Team! Come out and meet our winter athletes for boys basketball, girls basketball, and wrestling.
