Spring Fling: Friday April 12th


Registration forms for the extended summer learning program went home with students yesterday. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students. The deadline to register is April 23rd.


Hope everyone has enjoyed their Spring Break and enjoyed spending time over the Easter holiday with family. Please make sure your iPads are plugged in and ready to go for tomorrow morning. Looking forward to seeing all the smiling faces in the morning.


Ritchie County hosted their annual Spelling Bee Wednesday evening. These young scholars did an amazing job! We would like to congratulate all of these children for being the spelling bee winners for their school. We also want to congratulate our county winners on a job well done.







Students from Ritchie County participated in the Regional Math Field Day at WVU Parkersburg on Monday. What a great group of students! They put forth their very best effort and came away with two students placing as alternates to go to the State Math Field Day Competition. Congratulations to all of these students for winning the local competition and earning the privilege to compete for our county.




Congratulations to these students that will be going on to the State Social Studies Fair. We want to wish them luck and thank them for their hard work on their projects.

We would like to introduce these three student teachers from Glenville University, all former Blazers! Meet Mr. Rader, Mr. Davis, and Mr. Bowie, whose positive impact has been felt in our classrooms here at RCMS. 🍎📚
Mr. Anthony Rader's degree is in secondary math education. He enjoys basketball, golf and gaming. Mr. Adam Davis's degree is secondary math education. His hobbies include running and basketball. He runs for the GSU XC and track teams. Mr. Brandon Bowie's degree is Math Education 5 to adult. He enjoys riding ATVs, hunting and watching sports. Mr. Bowie also throws shot put and discus for GSU's Track & Field Team.

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Regional Social Studies Fair this past weekend at Blennerhassett Middle School . 7th graders, Truett Flesher and Johnathan Freeland, took home a first place finish and will advance to the WV State Social Studies Fair in Charleston on April 10. Well done, Blazers!









This 6th grade gym class enjoyed games on a rainy day.







Brooklynn Deem, sixth grader at RCMS, had the opportunity to serve as a legislative page for the House of Delegates in February. Through her experience as a page, she was able to gain a better understanding of state government and the legislative process. During her time there she said the Opening Prayer for the session, made copies for delegates and served them snacks and drinks.




All RCMS students will will be taking the Writing GSA tomorrow, March 5th. Blazers: Be sure to get a good night sleep and eat breakfast tomorrow. It is very important that you arrive on time (by 7:52 AM). We will see you in the morning!
