📅 Upcoming Dates: Report Card Day, Veterans Day Program, PTO Meeting, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and more.
👕 PTO Apparel Sale: Show your Blazer pride! Orders are due Thursday, November 12. Visit rcmsblazers.company.site to shop.
🏫 November Attendance Challenge: Students who attend school every day November 16–20 will be entered to win a special attendance prize!
🎃 Halloween Highlights: Congratulations to our costume contest winners, and check out photos from our Halloween fun!
🎃 Pumpkin Drop Winners: Congratulations to the winners of the Pumpkin Drop Competition!
🏀 Winter Sports Reminder: Sports physicals must be completed before tryouts and practices.
📝 Important Attendance Reminder: When a student is absent, a parent, guardian, or custodian must provide an excuse note within 72 hours of returning to school. Notes can now be submitted electronically using the RCMS Student Absence Excuse Form.

Ritchie County Schools would like to congratulate our Board President, Dr. Torie Jackson on two prestigious awards: the Entrepreneurial President of the Year Award and WV Wonder Woman Award. The Entrepreneurial President Award is presented by the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship to recognize people who show visionary leadership, a culture of innovation, shows measurable improvements in students outcomes and local economic development, and served as a vocal advocate for entrepreneurship in higher education. WV Wonder Woman award is presented by WV Living Magazine to women in WV who lead, educate, nurture, create, and inspire others.
We are proud to have her serving as our Board President and supporting our schools here in Ritchie County. Please accept our sincere congratulations on your success!

Choose your favorite design and order T-shirts, long sleeves, sweatshirts, hoodies, pajama pants, or joggers.
A few details:

Open to all current 6th, 7th, & 8th grade girls.
Try-outs: Monday, November 2nd, Tuesday, November 3rd, and Wednesday, November 4th
Times: 3:30pm-5:30pm at RCMS Gym
Must have current physical on file at school before participating. Must be academically eligible (current GPA 2.0 or higher). Please wear appropriate attire for practice.
Questions- please contact Jason Nutter or Atticus Weekly.

Congratulations to Mrs. Barch’s art students who participated in the Self-Portrait Collage Competition through the West Virginia Art Education Association (WVAEA)! 🖌️
Our students had the opportunity to showcase their creativity, artistic skills, and unique personalities through their self-portrait collages. We are proud of them for putting their talents on display and taking part in this creative challenge!

This Friday, October 30, students may wear Halloween costumes to school , or they can bring it and change into it just for the Hallway Costume Walk .
Please remember that all costumes must be school appropriate and cannot interfere with the learning process. Costume props must also follow school rules. If an item is not normally allowed at school, please do not bring it as part of your costume.
Full-face masks may ONLY be worn during the Hallway Costume Walk. They are not permitted during the regular school day. No full-face paint is allowed, as we must be able to recognize everyone.
We look forward to seeing your creative costumes on Friday!
