📍ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS📍 Harrisville Elementary School will be holding Mini Olympics for the students in May. If you would like to attend, we need you to VOLUNTEER to help with the event. You also have to complete the confidentiality training and be approved by the Ritchie County Board of Education. Paperwork will be coming home soon if you wish to volunteer. 📍Kindergarten-2nd grade - May 16, 2023 📍3rd-4th grade - May 17, 2023 @ Harrisville Town Park (weather permitting)

Save the date for our Academic Learning Camp. Students in grades Preschool through 8 are invited to register and attend. This camp takes place the week of June 12th through July 7th at the schools. The time is from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm with breakfast and lunch provided. School busses will provide transportation. Look for the registration forms which will be sent home the week of April 11th.

Save the date for our Outdoor Recreation Day-Camp at North Bend State Park. Students in grades 2 through 8 are invited to register and attend. This camp takes place the week of July 10th-13th and 17th-20th. The time is from 8:00 am - 2:30 pm with breakfast and lunch provided. School busses will provide transportation. Look for the registration forms which will be sent home the week of April 11th.

🥚Our ENTIRE school will be participating in The Great Egg Drop! Papers are being sent home.🥚 📍Due Date: March 29, 2023 📍Instructions: -Place one raw egg in a Ziploc-type baggie -Package your egg in a contraption so it will not break when it hits the ground after being dropped from the roof of the school. -Size of the package may not exceed 7”x7”x7” -Label the container with your name and decorate it. 🥚This project is to be done at HOME and sent in on March 29th. Get creative and have fun! We cannot wait to see which eggs survive!

Students in kindergarten at Harrisville Elementary School have been learning about shapes. They enhanced their learning with their iPads as they took pictures of shapes around them. Then they added sentences with help from their microphone on their iPads as they spoke their sentences.

🍀🌈Harrisville Elementary School students were greeted by two sweet leprechauns this morning since they won’t be at school tomorrow for St. Patricks Day. They passed out green clover stickers to everyone.🍀🌈

🐝Harrisville Elementary School held their annual school Spelling Bee on March 10, 2023. Grades 1-4 participated. First and second place winners per grade will advance on to the county Spelling Bee. Third place finishers will be county alternates. Congratulations to all of the spellers!

Students in 3rd grade have learned coding through the Code.org website this year. Now they are applying that skill as they work with the Dash and Dot robots. The robots have caused a great deal of excitement as you can see.

It’s Registration Time. If you know of a preschool or kindergarten age child you may now sign up for our registration days. Please call 304-643-2991, Ext. 110 for an appointment. All registration will take place at the Ritchie County Board of Education building.
