🐇The preschool classes at Harrisville Elementary School got to learn about how to care for a pet bunny. Mrs. Weekley, 2nd grade teacher, brought in her bunny for the students to see.🐇

🏹Mr. Ross, physical education teacher at H.E.S., is starting a new archery unit for third and fourth graders during physical education class time. A form is being sent home and must be signed in order for your child to participate.🏹

🥚🥚Egg Drop contraptions are due tomorrow, if you are participating. Get creative and let’s see which eggs survive!


Save the date for our Outdoor Recreation Day-Camp at North Bend State Park. Students in grades 2 through 8 are invited to register and attend. This camp takes place the week of July 10th-13th and 17th-20th. The time is from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm with breakfast and lunch provided. School busses will provide transportation. Look for the registration forms which will be sent home the week of April 11th.


Save the date for our Academic Learning Camp. Students in grades Preschool through 8 are invited to register and attend. This camp takes place the week of June 12th through July 7th at the schools. The time is from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm with breakfast and lunch provided. School busses will provide transportation. Look for the registration forms which will be sent home the week of April 11th.

Bryson Pierce is the first 4th grader to pass 100 iReady Reading lessons this year. Congratulations to Bryson!


Students in 3rd grade at Harrisville are adding a little creativity to multiplication practice by using the Pages app with their iPads. These cute little farms the students created will be loaded with animals after the students roll their dice to multiply by 8.




Save the Date!
Ritchie County High School Theatre will present the play "Peter Pan" May 12th and 13th. The theatre students are working hard on the play and would love to have you attend.


Harrisville Elementary School custodian, Rusty Gay, will officially be hanging up his broom and supplies at the beginning of April. Rusty has worked 30 years and we wish him much happiness in his retirement. Congratulations, Rusty!

Harrisville Elementary School will be having a Penny War next week!
March 27-30, 2023 (Monday-Thursday)
Students will be competing by their homeroom class. Pennies are positive points and silver change counts as negative points. Points will be tallied and updated daily. The top 3 homeroom classes will receive prizes.
Help the PTO raise some money and let’s have fun!

📍ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS📍
Harrisville Elementary School will be holding Mini Olympics for the students in May. If you would like to attend, we need you to VOLUNTEER to help with the event. You also have to complete the confidentiality training and be approved by the Ritchie County Board of Education. Paperwork will be coming home soon if you wish to volunteer.
