Today, current Secretary of State, Kris Warner, visited Ritchie County High School to present the prestigious Jennings Randolph Award for Civic Engagement for the 2025-2026 School Year. To earn this award, RCHS had to get at least 85% of their current senior class registered to vote (of those that are eligible). RCHS nominated two students who organized the student-led voter registration drive at the school, Isaac Hodges and Carter Satterfield. These students have been named Honorary Secretaries of State by the current Secretary of State Kris Warner.

Ritchie County Schools is super proud of these two students, and the rest of our student body for participating in registering to vote! Way to go Rebels!

Congratulations to our incredible Ritchie County High School and Middle School Band on a phenomenal Spring Concert!

It was a wonderful evening filled with talent, dedication, and school spirit. We are so proud of the hard work our student-musicians and directors put into this performance—the growth you’ve shown this year is truly inspiring.

RCHS would like to congratulate our FFA Horse Evaluation Team on their State Champion (Andrea Huffman, Taylor Krolick, Stella Robinson, and Jana Rutter) as well as Andrea Huffman for 1st Place individual. Great job girls!

The FFA Horse Evaluation Team will complete on the national state at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo this October.
